Anne Brower BA, RN, IBCLC, CST
Let me share a little about myself…
With 37 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, 23 years as a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) & advanced training in Craniosacral Therapy, I’ve had the honor of supporting countless families through one of the most rewarding and challenging aspects of early parenthood—breastfeeding.
My career has been shaped by a deep passion for helping mothers & babies thrive along with protecting the profound bond that a mother & her baby share.
I am proud to have practiced at Miami Valley Hospital for 36 years and presently part of the Dayton Children’s lactation team for the last 3 1/2 years. I have lactation experience working with post-partum mothers & babies, NICU & ill infants in the inpatient setting and extensive experience in the outpatient setting, which is my passion!
Training and Mentorship: Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of training and mentoring hundreds of clients, healthcare professionals, and hospital staff. My goal is to pass on the knowledge I’ve gained, ensuring that breastfeeding families and caregivers who support these families, have the tools and education they need to be successful.
Expert Support Across Multiple Settings: Whether working with individuals in the hospital or supporting new families in the community, I am committed to offering evidence-based, compassionate care tailored to each unique situation.
My Approach
I believe that every family deserves the best possible start in their breastfeeding journey, and my approach is rooted in empathy, patience, and comprehensive education. I take time to understand the unique needs and challenges of each family I work with, offering guidance to ensure that both mother and baby feel comfortable, confident and supported in attaining their breastfeeding goals.
With decades of experience and a deep commitment to ongoing education, I provide up-to-date, evidence-based education & practices.
Areas of special interest and education: oral dysfunction, oral ties, oral rehabilitation, low milk supply related to PCOS, hypothyroidism, premie/full term infant breastfeeding issues, bodywork & breastfeeding. My holistic approach also integrates my other passion; craniosacral therapy for those who seek additional relief and healing.
